Xenia Gogu
Violin
​Moldovan-Spanish violinist Xenia Gogu specializes in
historical performance, combining solo, chamber
music and orchestra projects as part of her artistic life.
She is currently living in the Netherlands, where she
holds a violin position with the Noord Nederlands
Orkest. With her different groups she is a prizewinner
of various international competitions, such as the York
International Young Artist Competition (1st Prize), at
the Göttingen Händel Competition (1st Prize) and the
Biagio Marini Competition (2nd Prize). She has also
performed at prestigious festivals, such as Laus
Polyphonae in Antwerp, Semana de la Música Antigua
de Estella-Lizarra, Festival FestiVita in Brussels and
at the Festival FELIX! in Köln to menetion a few.
She has studied in the Early Music Department in
Bremen with Veronika Skuplic. She has previously
obtained her Bachelor’s degree at the Hanns Eisler
Hochschule für Musik in Berlin and completed her
Master’s degree in Hamburg.
She has been part of the Apprentices Program with
Monteverdi Choir and Orchestras (under the baton of
Sir J.E.Gardiner) and in the Collegium Vocale Gent
Academy (under the baton of Ph.Herreweghe) and
appears regularly with orchestras such as Mahler
Chamber Orchestra, Millenium Orchestra, Balthasar
Neumann Ensembles, Utopia and Cappella
Mediterranea.
